Why You Should Read Your Bible Everyday
Do you read your Bible everyday?
The Bible. The most powerful library in existence. The bestselling, most translated, most culturally impacting book ever given to mankind. Do you read it? How often do you read it? How do you read it? Why should you read it? Don't worry, I am not putting forward these questions to judge, but to have you, yourself, the reader reflect on your own relationship with the Great Book and how you interact with it. Out of all the questions I have asked you, I want to focus on the why question.
Why should you read it?
The Bible has power upon the reader who reads in faith. God's word has immense power upon the soul who reads it.
Who (Christ) being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; -Hebrews 1:3
And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. -Luke 4:32
Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? -Ecclesiastes 8:4
Jesus Christ is our King. He is the word of his Father in visible form. The Bible is Jesus written down. The words of Christ are only recorded in the Bible, which are then transcribed onto the heart of the reader who reads in faith. It is through the word that we can actually have a renewing of our mind. A change in our heart. A life worth living. There was a study that came out in 2018, that showed a decreased risk of dementia and improved memory the more someone reads. There was an article speaking of the study titled:
Research shows that reading improves memory and reduces the risk of dementia. Reading may even be better for brain health than other mental activities.
Reading every day may reduce dementia risk, according to a study published in JAMA Psychiatry in July 2018.

Out of all the mediums God could have used, Oral, Typographical, Digital, Pictorial, why did He choose the written word to be the medium to present his message to us? He knows our minds better than we know ourselves. Different mediums have differing changes to the brain as the brain is 'plastic' or maleable. It adapts. Those adaptations to different mediums can have trade-offs ( I plan to divulge into this subject further in later articles). He wants us to have a brain that thinks deeply. A brain that can focus on something for a long period of time without distraction. To have remarkable memory and attention to detail, especially in the context of the great story given in the bible. He wants us to see him through the printed page, for if we look hard enough we will see our future smiling at us through the image of His son, Jesus. God wants to be known. He wants us to see him for who He really is. Not through our own image but in His.
I encourage you to read your Bible daily and gather the benefits that it has on the mind. Daily reading of anything is beneficial, but daily reading of the Bible is powerful, life changing, and life giving.
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. -John 17:17
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. -Luke4:4
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. -1 Peter 1:23
Books have a powerful effect on the brain and can reduce dementia and alzheimers risk. There are studies that have demonsrated that reading daily makes your brain a literate, focused brain. Not a distracted, jugglers brain, but the real deal. A brain that deeply thinks. The Bible molds our brain in such a way that it becomes a weapon or obstacle to those of the New World Order. A brain and mind that is free from the lies that once shackled it. So read on! Enjoy it, embrace it, meditate on it and be renewed. Dont focus on how much to read, or what content to read everyday, just read!
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. -Romans 12:2
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; -Colossians 3:16
